![]() Click a profile to start Chrome with the selected user. If you have not yet created any extra profiles, there will just be one profile and an Add button. There is a button to Browse as Guest and a list of user profiles that have been created. Now whenever you start Chrome, a window like this appears that enables you to select the profile to start the browser with. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Relaunch button to close Chrome and restart it with this new setting enabled. It turns out that the default is actually Disabled. Search for profile picker and there is a New profile picker item at the top of the search results. ![]() The setting we want is safe to experiment with and it is some way down the page where it is hard to find. Some are experimental and may or may not work, others may make Chrome worse, so don’t fiddle around with them unless you know what you are doing. This displays a page packed with hidden configuration settings that are not in the normal Chrome settings. ![]() To show the secret ones, enter chrome://flags into the address box. ![]() There are the normal settings in Chrome and there are secret settings. It affects search results and for some people, profiles are an essential feature. You can also browse with a guest profile. If you have more than one Google account, you can browse the web as one user or another user. However, some people rarely access it, if ever. Profiles are something that a few people probably use a lot and it is very useful for accessing websites and services as different users, like work and personal. Do you use it? Probably not, because it is well hidden. It is not very convenient for people that switched profiles a lot, so Google added a profile switcher to the startup. Google Chrome has supported multiple users for a long time and you could add users in the browser’s settings and then switch from one user to another by clicking the profile icon.
